Not quite there yet? If you don’t climb out in every thermal yet, you don’t have to wait until it comes by itself: a coaching day for two shows where you stand and you take two or three exercises away for your next flights.
If you’re unsure which of the three paths is yours, write to me with one sentence on where you stand: flights, wing, longest flight. I’ll tell you honestly which camp is right for you now and if there isn’t one, I’ll tell you that too. And if three or four of you are at the same point, I’ll turn it into days just for you.
If you don’t want to plan at all
The other way: no date in advance, just the announcement as soon as the forecast is clear.
The core offer
1 to 2 days · announced 48 h ahead · 3 to 6 people
On the days when it really works. The forecast decides, not the calendar.
1 day · in the mountains · on your own or for two
A day in the mountains, just the two of us. First we look at where you stand and where you want to go and then at what actually moves you forward on that path: the basics that bring you closer to your goal, or straight away the big thing you have set out to do.

Online · bookable individually · all year round
Support through the season, even without me in the air. You fly cross-country yourself but don’t know the area or want to know where the dangers and the potential lie on that day: then you book a briefing the evening before. And after the flight a debriefing: you often learn the most from a flight you look at again calmly.
Prices per person, for the coaching day per day. Travel, accommodation, cable cars and food are not included. Quote on request.
For clubs and companies
An evening or half a day with you: at the club, at the flying school or at a trade fair. I bring real days along, the forecast from back then, the track, what I had expected and what actually came. With them I can show how to assess weather, flight tactics and a flying area.
Given at, among others
Given for clubs and associations (talk evening, season opener, site briefing for the members), for flying schools as a training module and for organisers at trade fairs and testivals. Fee plus travel and expenses. I give talks on site, not as a livestream. Everything else I clarify with you beforehand.
No. A and B wings are explicitly welcome. The flights this is about don’t need much performance: they need the right day and the right line. I celebrate a crossing on a B wing at least as much as every kilometre on a competition wing.
You should have a valid licence and fly thermals. A number of hours says little. Send me a sentence on where you stand (flights, wing, longest flight) and I’ll tell you honestly how I see it. If it doesn’t fit, I’ll tell you that too.
Yes. In Switzerland the registration marking requirement also applies to foreign guest pilots; the German marking isn’t valid here. The SHV (Swiss Hang Gliding Association) number is free for foreign pilots: fill in the membership application at the SHV and choose “Registration (gratis)”. The number is tied to you as a person and applies to all your wings. You then order the sticker numbers from a Swiss supplier. Take care of it in good time, not the evening before.
No. In an SIV course you learn to get out of a situation again. Here you learn to see it beforehand. The two belong together and I don’t advise anyone against SIV. It’s just that one doesn’t replace the other.
Both happen: I fly ahead when you want to see where the line goes and I fly with you and ask when you are supposed to decide yourself. You tell me what’s needed right now and we switch in the middle of a flight too. In the end you should be able to decide without me. Otherwise it hasn’t achieved anything.
No. A briefing is a shared assessment, not a go-ahead. I tell you what I see and how I would read it. Whether you take off is your own decision, made at launch.
For the XC Days I only confirm 48 hours beforehand. That is the whole point. If a confirmed day is still called off, it gets moved. If none of the replacement dates suits you, what you have paid stays as credit: with it you have a place in another camp, or I count it towards another offer. For a camp I decide by the forecast: if it gives roughly two and a half flying days, the camp goes ahead. If it looks clearly worse, I postpone it and get in touch as soon as that becomes clear. How many of the four days end up flyable is then down to the weather. The details are in the terms and conditions.
Via the Zello app, so on your phone. The push-to-talk button is my gift to you; it stays yours, also for flights without me. I lend you the headset for the day. Where there is no network, we fall back on PMR radio. You get the radio for that from me for the day.
Something else on your mind? Write to me, even if the answer in the end is that what I offer isn’t the right thing for you right now.
