In short: You sign up, I confirm in writing and for a camp your place is secure once the deposit has been paid. For the XC Days my confirmation is what counts, the invoice follows after the day. If a day is cancelled because of the weather, we postpone: your money remains with me as credit and is worth a place in another camp to you. If you cancel yourself, it depends on how short notice that is; the scale is set out in Section 8. You fly at your own risk; I cannot take that off your hands and nobody else could.

1. Scope

These terms apply to all offers by streckenfliegen,Christopher Fromm: spontaneous XC Days, camps, one-to-one coaching, briefing and debriefing as well as talks and workshops. Full contact details are given in the legal notice.

I do not offer flight training and I am no substitute for a flying school. My offers are aimed at pilots who already hold a licence and fly independently.

2. How a contract is formed

Your request is not yet a booking. I get back to you with a specific proposal and a quote (Offerte). The booking only becomes binding with my written confirmation by email. Until then, nothing costs you anything and nothing commits you.

For a camp, your place is reserved as soon as the deposit has arrived, not already with your sign-up or my confirmation. There I allocate the places in the order in which payments are received. If you sign up and do not pay, someone else moves up; I let you know beforehand.

For the XC Days it is quicker. I announce a day in the WhatsApp community “Spontane XC Days”, you request it and tell me where you stand as a pilot. I check whether the day suits you and then confirm your place. From this confirmation onwards your participation is binding: the group is small and I plan the day around the people who have confirmed. There is no deposit here, the invoice follows after the day.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are in Swiss francs per person. The exception is one-to-one coaching: there the price applies to the day, whether you come alone or as two. I am not subject to VAT, so nothing is added on top. Not included are travel, accommodation, cable cars, food and insurance, unless the confirmation expressly states otherwise.

You receive an invoice, payable within 30 days. For a camp it is 14 days, because there a place remains reserved until the money has arrived.

Deposit for a camp: 30% with my confirmation. This is the amount that secures your place, payable within 14 days. The balance is only invoiced once the camp is certain to take place: at the latest on the Tuesday evening before, when I decide on the basis of the forecast. It too is payable within 14 days. If the camp is cancelled, you will never have received an invoice for the balance.

No deposit for the XC Days: You send a request, I confirm your place and the invoice follows after the day. The flying days card covers the days stated on it.

Without a deposit: one-to-one coaching, briefing and debriefing, talks and workshops. There I invoice according to the service provided.

Prices stated for an individual offer apply to the service described there. The price in my confirmation is always decisive; I do not increase it afterwards.

4. Flying days card

The card covers 5 flying days, is valid for 5 years from purchase and can be transferred to another person. The period of validity is stated on the card and on the invoice. It can be redeemed on any XC Days as long as places are available. It does not give rise to any entitlement to a particular day.

Unused days are not paid out in cash. If a card expires before you were able to use it, get in touch. As a rule we find a solution.

5. Briefing and debriefing online

Briefings and debriefings take place online and, like the other offers, are agreed by confirmation. For this you need a usable internet connection. I cannot answer for that and a failure on your side is not a reason for cancellation.

Documents and recordings are intended for you personally. You may not pass them on, show them publicly or upload them.

A briefing is a shared assessment, not a clearance for a flight. Whether, when and where you launch is your own decision and your own responsibility.

6. Programme, area and schedule

What I offer depends on the weather. I set the launch, flying area, route, order and times on the day in question and change them when the situation requires it. A change of area, even over a greater distance or into another valley, is not a departure from what was agreed; it is part of it. Locations given in the event description name the meeting point and the region, not an assured launch.

For offers lasting several days the same applies to the individual days: I can swap flying days and the ground programme when the forecast suggests it. If the weather does not allow any flight at all, the day takes place on the ground: with route planning, weather discussion and debriefing. There is no entitlement to a particular number of flights, flying hours or kilometres.

If I cannot accompany a date myself, I may have an equally qualified person stand in for me. If you are not happy with that, you may cancel free of charge.

7. If I cancel

An XC Day takes place with 3 or more people. If fewer confirm, I postpone the day or offer it as one-to-one coaching. I run a camp with 4 or more people, unless a higher number is stated on the camp page; if fewer sign up, I cancel it no later than 21 days before the start and you receive a refund of everything you have paid.

Camps and the weather: Four booked camp days are not an assurance of four flying days. I run a camp when the forecast offers roughly two and a half flying days; if it looks considerably worse, I postpone the camp and get in touch as soon as this becomes foreseeable. How many days can actually be flown in the end is decided by the weather. That is the risk of an offer that depends on the weather and does not give rise to a refund.

If a day is cancelled because of the weather, it is postponed. If no alternative date suits you, the amount becomes credit under Section 9. It is not refunded. If I have to break off a day that has already begun for safety reasons, it counts as having taken place; flying means that a day sometimes ends on the ground.

If I cancel for reasons on my side (illness, accident, unavailability), you receive a refund of the full amount. The same applies if an offer cannot take place for reasons neither of us can influence: closures, natural events, orders by the authorities, strikes, pandemics and the like.

There are no further claims in any of these cases. You book travel, accommodation, cable car tickets and days of holiday at your own risk. I do not reimburse these costs.

8. If you cancel

For a camp the deposit is not refunded. It remains with me as credit; what you can do with it is set out in Section 9. How much beyond that becomes payable depends on how short notice your cancellation is.

XC Days: Up to 2 days before the meeting a cancellation costs you nothing. After that, 50% of the price becomes payable. By that point the planning, choice of area and coordination have been done. If you do not show up, the full amount becomes payable.

Camps: Up to 60 days before the start it stays at the deposit; after that, up to 30 days before, 25%; up to 14 days before, 50%; after that and in the event of a no-show, the full amount. The deposit is credited towards these amounts.

The same applies if you leave an offer lasting several days early or do not take part on individual days, for whatever reason. Unused days are not refunded.

Always possible: You provide a replacement person who meets the requirements. Then there are no additional charges and your deposit is transferred to them. For camps involving travel and accommodation, cancellation insurance is worthwhile. I do not offer any.

9. What happens to your money

Nothing is refunded, but nothing is forfeited either. What you have paid and were not able to fly remains with streckenfliegen as credit and you have the choice:

You can be sure of a place in another camp. You tell me which one: I keep the place free for you, even if the camp is otherwise full. This applies to the current and the next season.

Or I credit it pro rata: towards an XC Day, a one-to-one coaching, a briefing, a debriefing or a flying days card. Whatever is left remains as credit and is set off next time.

Credit is valid for 2 years from the date it arises and can be transferred to another person. If it expires before you were able to use it, get in touch; as a rule we find a solution.

10. What you need to bring

The requirements for participation are a valid licence (Brevet), airworthy and properly inspected equipment and your own third-party liability, accident and rescue insurance. In addition, the flying skills described for the respective offer.

You are responsible for ensuring that this is the case. I do not check it on your behalf. If it turns out on site that the requirements are not met, I can exclude you from participation. In this case there is no refund.

If you are unsure whether your level fits: ask me beforehand. An honest answer is better for me than a day on which you are out of your depth.

11. On site

My instructions on safety and on the schedule are binding: at the meeting point, at launch and during shared journeys. Alcohol, medication or other substances that impair fitness to fly exclude participation on the day in question.

Anyone who repeatedly disregards what has been agreed or endangers others can be excluded by me from the rest of the event. The entitlement to the fee remains in this case and you organise your journey home yourself.

For camps I provide, on request, a list of participants with names and places of residence, so that you can organise car sharing and rooms. You tell me beforehand whether you want to be on it. Without your yes you are not on it.

12. Responsibility in the air

Paragliding is an air sport that you practise on your own responsibility. The conditions on the mountain and in the air change constantly and even with careful preparation a residual risk remains that nobody can rule out. You make every decision yourself: launch, route, turning back, landing and breaking off. My assessment, my planning for the day and my radio support are recommendations. They do not take these decisions off your hands and do not replace your own assessment of the situation.

This also applies when we are in the air together: the fact that I fly ahead or suggest a line does not mean that it is the right one for you, your equipment and your day. If you follow me, that is your decision.

My liability is governed by the legal notice. In cases of intent and gross negligence my liability is unlimited.

13. If something is not right

Tell me immediately while we are on site. Then I can change something: the area, the pace, the grouping, the schedule. A complaint that only comes weeks later is something I can neither examine nor remedy.

14. Photos and recordings

Photos and sometimes videos are taken on the mountain. Before I publish a recording in which you can be recognised, I ask you. You can withdraw consent once given at any time without any formalities. An email is sufficient.

16. Changes

I can change these terms. For a booking that has already been confirmed, the version in force at the time of the confirmation always applies.

17. Applicable law

Swiss law applies. To the extent permitted by law, the place of jurisdiction is Unterseen. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
